While rescue operations get kicked into high gear in Nepal, it’s also good time to realise just how important it is so make buildings ‘Earthquake Resistant‘. After Gujarat earthquake in 2001, government impose many rules and regulations for safety point of view of buildings, but builders and very often we ourselves cut corners on building constructions. And this happens in the case of a quake – turning your life-savings, your home and very often your life into rubble.
Previously we have shown you some very early footages from Nepal and what a 7.9 magnitude earthquake looks like and in this video, you will see a non earthquake resistant building easily collapse like deck of cards making us realise how important ‘Earthquake Resistant’ buildings are.
